I Thessalonians 4:16

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first

One of the biggest distinguishing characteristics of a hymn is how it ends. Certain other genres of Christian music sometimes introduce problems and leave them unresolved. Hymns, on the other hand, often end with an eternal perspective, looking back on the issue raised in the hymn from the vantage point of eternity.

Stuart Townend might be a current writer, but he nails this technique here. The final verse of this song draws from I Thessalonians 4:16 to complete the story at the Second Coming.
