Eternal Rock, project Thy shade

Eternal Rock, project thy shade,
Extend to me thy friendly aid,
While at thy foot, a sinner I,
Weary, and spent, and dying lie:
Cover’d by thee, my soul would rest
With pardon and salvation blest,
’Till thro’ thy riven side I rise,
And see thee fill both earth and skies.

Hymnal/Album: Originally titled “As the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.”—[Isa.] xxxii. 2.
