Great in the field of battle, great

Great in the field of battle, great
The monarch on his judgment-seat
His dread authority maintains,
And conscious of his grandeur reigns:
But before him who rules the skies,
Humbled as in the dust he lies,
Dares, in the meanest services,
The least of all himself confess.
