In Abraham’s sepulchre they rest

Verse 1
In Abraham’s sepulchre they rest
Who once did in his footsteps go,
Pilgrims, like him, themselves confest,
Strangers and sojourners below,
By faith embrac’d the promise given,
And sought their settlement in heaven.

Verse 2
Who faith’s sincere obedience shew’d
Their Isaacs here by offering up
Are gather’d to the friends of God,
Their bodies too repose in hope,
Their souls in Abraham’s bosom lie,
Safe with their Father in the sky.
