Poor, ignorant, illiterate men

Poor, ignorant, illiterate men,
We cannot what we feel explain,
But taught, inlighten’d from above
We know both God and man to love:
Tis all our learning here below,
Tis all we want in heaven to know,
Tis gospel pure which Christ imparts,
Tis scripture written on our hearts.
