The type in Moses we confess

Verse 1
The type in Moses we confess
Born in a time of great distress,
And born divinely fair:
But who of all the sons of men,
When once the Antitype is seen,
With Jesus can compare?

Verse 2
Born to fulfil the promises,
His captive people to release,
In a strange land He lives,
And persecuted from his birth,
The lot of all his saints on earth
With meekest love receives.
