Lyrics

Verse 1
My Father is rich in houses and lands,
He holdeth the wealth of the world in His hands! (Psalm 50:10-12)
Of rubies and diamonds, of silver and gold, (Haggai 2:8)
His coffers are full, He has riches untold.

Chorus
I’m a child of the King, a child of the King: (John 1:12, Rom. 8:16-17, II Cor. 6:18, Gal. 3:26)
With Jesus my Savior, I’m a child of the King.

Verse 2
My Father’s own Son, the Savior of men,
Once wandered on earth as the poorest of them; (II Cor. 8:9, Matt. 8:20, Luke 9:58)
But now He is pleading our pardon on high, (Rom. 8:34, Heb. 7:25, I John 2:1)
That we may be His when He comes by and by.

Verse 3
I once was an outcast stranger on earth, (Eph. 2:12)
A sinner by choice, an alien by birth,
But I’ve been adopted, my name’s written down, (Rom. 8:15, Gal. 4:4-7, Eph. 1:5, Luke 10:20, Phil. 4:3, Rev. 3:5, Rev. 13:8, Rev. 17:8, Rev. 21:27)
An heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown. (Rom. 8:17, John 14:2-3, Rev. 3:5, Rev. 6:11, Rev. 7:9, James 1:12, II Tim. 4:8)

Verse 4
A tent or a cottage, why should I care? (II Cor. 5:1)
They’re building a palace for me over there; (John 14:2-3)
Though exiled from home, yet still may I sing: (Phil. 3:20, Heb. 11:9-13, Heb. 13:14, I Peter 2:11)
All glory to God, I’m a child of the King.
