Being of beings, God of Love, to Thee our hearts

Being of beings, God of love, (I Jn. 4:8, I Jn. 4:16)
To thee our hearts we raise; (Lam. 3:41)
Thy all-sustaining pow’r we prove, (Col. 1:17, Heb. 1:3)
And gladly sing thy praise. (Ps. 95:1-2)

Verse 2
Thine, wholly thine we pant to be, (Ps. 42:1)
Our sacrifice receive; (Rom. 12:1)
Made, and preserv’d, and sav’d by thee, (Ps. 100:3, Is. 43:1, Col. 1:16-17, I Pet. 1:5)
To thee ourselves we give.

Verse 3
Heav’nward our ev’ry wish aspires: (Col. 3:1-2)
For all thy mercy’s store
The sole return thy love requires,
Is that we ask for more.

Verse 4
For more we ask, we open then
Our hearts t’ embrace thy will:
Turn and beget us, Lord, again, (John 3:3, John 3:7, James 1:18, I Pet. 1:23)
With all thy fulness fill! (Eph. 3:19)

Verse 5
Come, Holy Ghost, the Saviour’s love
Shed in our hearts abroad; (Rom. 5:5)
So shall we ever live and move,
And be, with Christ, in God. (Acts 17:28, Col. 3:3)
