Lyrics

Verse 1
Blest be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love; (Col. 2:2, Col. 3:14)
The fellowship of kindred minds (Phil. 2:2)
Is like to that above. (John 17:21-23)

Verse 2
Before our Father’s throne
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one
Our comforts and our cares.

Verse 3
We share each other’s woes,
Our mutual burdens bear; (Gal. 6:2, I Cor. 12:26)
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear. (Rom. 12:15)

Verse 4
When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart, (Col. 2:5)
And hope to meet again. (I Thess. 2:17, I Thess. 4:16-17)

Verse 5
This glorious hope revives (Tit. 2:13)
Our courage by the way;
While each in expectation lives,
And longs to see the day. (II Tim. 4:8, II Pet. 3:12)

Verse 6
From sorrow, toil and pain, (Rev. 21:4)
And sin, we shall be free, (Rom. 8:21)
And perfect love and friendship reign (I John 4:18)
Through all eternity.
