Brethren, We Have Met to Worship

Verse 1
Brethren, we have met to wor­ship
And adore the Lord our God;
Will you pray with all your pow­er,
While we meet to preach His Word? (II Tim. 4:12)
All is vain un­less the Spir­it
Of the Ho­ly One comes down;
Brethren, pray, and ho­ly man­na (Ex. 16:31-35, Num. 11:6-9, Deut. 8:3, Deut. 8:16, Josh. 5:12, Neh. 9:20, John 6:31, John 6:46, John 6:58, Rev. 2:17)
Will be show­ered all around. (Ex. 16:4, Ps. 78:24)

Verse 2
Brethren, see poor sin­ners round you
Slumbering on the brink of woe; (Eph. 5:14)
Death is com­ing, hell is mov­ing; (Isa. 5:14)
Can you bear to let them go? (Ezek. 3:18)
See our fa­thers and our mo­thers,
And our child­ren sink­ing down;
Brethren, pray and ho­ly man­na
Will be show­ered all around.

Verse 3
Brethren, there are poor back­slid­ers,
Who were once near Heav­en’s door;
But they have be­trayed the Sav­ior,
And are worse than e’en be­fore. (II Pet. 2:20-22, Heb. 6:4-6)
Yet the Sav­ior offers par­don, (Jer. 3:22)
If they will la­ment their wound;
Brethren, pray, and ho­ly man­na
Will be show­ered all around.

Verse 4
Let us love our God su­preme­ly; (Deut. 6:5, Deut. 10:12, Deut. 11:13, Deut. 13:3, Deut. 30:6, Josh. 22:5)
Let us love each oth­er, too; (Matt. 22:37-39, Mark 12:30-31, Luke 10:27, John 13:34-35, I John 4:19-21)
Let us love and pray for sin­ners,
Till our God makes all things new. (Rev. 21:5)
Then He’ll call us home to Heav­en; (John 14:2-3, I Thess. 4:16-17)
At His ta­ble we’ll sit down; (Luke 22:30)
Christ will gird Him­self and serve us, (Luke 12:37)
With sweet man­na all around. (Rev. 2:17)
