Chosen of the Lord, and pre­cious, (I Pet. 2:6, Isa. 28:16)
Binding all the Church in one, (Eph. 2:14, Eph. 2:20-22, John 17:21-23)
Holy Zi­on’s help for­ev­er,
And her con­fi­dence alone.

All that de­di­cat­ed ci­ty,
Dearly loved of God on high, (Ps. 87:2-3)
In ex­ult­ant ju­bi­la­tion,
Pours per­pe­tu­al me­lo­dy,
God the One in Three ador­ing
In glad hymns eter­na­lly.

Verse 3
To this tem­ple, where we call Thee,
Come, O Lord of Hosts, to­day;
With Thy wont­ed lov­ing­kind­ness (Ps. 119:149, Ps. 48:9)
Hear Thy serv­ants as they pray. (I Kings 8:29-30)
And Thy full­est be­ne­dict­ion
Shed with­in its walls al­way. (II Chron. 7:15-16)

Here vouch­safe to all Thy se­rvants
