Lyrics

Verse 1
Come, ye sinners, poor and wretched,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore, (Rev. 3:17, Rom. 5:6)
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Full of pity joined with power.
He is able, He is able; (Heb. 7:25)
He is willing: doubt no more. (Matt. 8:2-3, Mark 1:41, Luke 5:13)

Verse 2
Ho! ye needy; come, and welcome;
God’s free bounty glorify.
True belief, and true repentance,
Every grace that brings us nigh,
Without money, without money,
Come to Jesus Christ, and buy. (Isa. 55:1)

Verse 3
Let not conscience make you linger:
Nor of fitness fondly dream.
All the fitness He requireth
Is, to feel your need of Him:
This He gives you, this He gives you;
’Tis the Spirit’s rising beam.

Verse 4
Come ye weary, heavy laden, (Matt. 11:28)
Bruised and mangled by the Fall;
If you tarry, till you’re better,
You will never come at all.
Not the righteous, not the righteous,
Sinners, Jesus came to call. (Matt. 9:13, Mark 2:17, Luke 5:32, I Tim. 1:15)

Verse 5
View Him groveling in the Garden;
Lo! your maker prostrate lies. (Luke 22:41-44)
On the bloody tree behold Him;
Hear Him cry, before He dies,
It is finished, it is finished. (John 19:30)
Sinner, will not this suffice?

Verse 6
Lo! th’incarnate God, ascended, (John 1:14)
Pleads the merit of His blood. (Heb. 9:12)
Venture on Him, venture wholly;
Let not other trust intrude.
None but Jesus, none but Jesus,
Can do helpless sinners good.

Verse 7
Saints and angels joined in concert,
Sing the praises of the Lamb; (Rev. 5:11-12, Rev. 7:9-12)
While the blissful seats of Heaven
Sweetly echo with His name.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! (Rev. 19:1, Rev. 19:6)
Sinners here may sing the same.
