Father, our eyes we lift to Thee

Verse 1
Father, our eyes we lift to thee, (Ps. 123:1-2)
And taste our daily bread: (Matt. 6:11, Luke 11:3)
’Tis now thy open hand we see, (Ps. 145:15-16, Ps. 104:27-28)
And on thy bounty feed.

Verse 2
’Tis now the meaner creatures join
Richly thy grace to prove;
Fulfil thy primitive design,
Enjoy’d by thankful love. (I Tim. 4:3-5)

Verse 3
Still, while our mouths are fill’d with good, (Ps. 103:5)
Our souls to thee we raise; (Ps. 25:1, Ps. 86:4)
Our souls partake of nobler food, (John 6:27, Deut. 8:3, Matt. 4:4, Luke 4:4)
And banquet on thy praise. (Ps. 63:5)

Verse 4
Yet higher still our farthest aim;
To mingle with the blest, (Heb. 12:22-23)
T’ attend the marriage of the Lamb, (Rev. 19:7-9)
And heaven’s eternal feast. (Isa. 25:6)
