Verse 1
I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own. (Tit. 2:14)

Chorus
But I know whom I have believèd, (II Tim. 1:12)
And am persuaded that He is able (II Tim. 1:12)
To keep that which I’ve committed (II Tim. 1:12)
Unto Him against that day. (II Tim. 1:12)

Verse 2
I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart, (Eph. 2:8)
Nor how believing in His Word
Wrought peace within my heart. (Rom. 5:1)

Verse 3
I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing us of sin, (John 16:8)
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
Creating faith in Him. (Rom. 10:17, Tit. 3:5)

Verse 4
I know not what of good or ill
May be reserved for me,
Of weary ways or golden days,
Before His face I see. (I Cor. 13:12, Rev. 22:4)

Verse 5
I know not when my Lord may come,
At night or noonday fair,
Nor if I walk the vale with Him, (Ps. 23:4)
Or meet Him in the air. (I Thess. 4:17)
