Lyrics

Verse 1
I will sing the wondrous story
Of the Christ who died for me. (Gal. 2:20)
How He left His home in glory
For the cross of Calvary. (Phil. 2:6-8)

Chorus
Yes, I’ll sing the wondrous story
Of the Christ who died for me,
Sing it with the saints in glory,
Gathered by the crystal sea. (Rev. 4:6, Rev. 15:2-3)

Verse 2
I was lost, but Jesus found me,
Found the sheep that went astray, (Isa. 53:6, I Pet. 2:25)
Threw His loving arms around me, (Luke 15:20)
Drew me back into His way. (Matt. 18:12-13, Luke 15:4-7)

Verse 3
I was bruised, but Jesus healed me,
Faint was I from many a fall,
Sight was gone, and fears possessed me, (John 9:25)
But He freed me from them all. (Ps. 34:4)

Verse 4
Days of darkness still come o’er me,
Sorrow’s path I often tread,
But the Savior still is with me;
By His hand I’m safely led. (Ps. 139:10, Ps. 73:23-24)

Verse 5
He will keep me till the river (Jude 1:24)
Rolls its waters at my feet;
Then He’ll bear me safely over, (Josh. 3:14-17)
Where the loved ones I shall meet. (I Thess. 4:16-17)
