Lyrics

Verse 1
I stand amazed in the presence
Of Jesus the Nazarene, (Matt. 2:23)
And wonder how He could love me,
A sinner, condemned, unclean. (Rom. 5:8, Isa. 64:6)

Chorus
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
And my song shall ever be:
O how marvelous! O how wonderful!
Is my Savior’s love for me!

Verse 2
For me it was in the garden
He prayed: Not My will, but Thine. (Matt. 26:39, Mark 14:36, Luke 22:42)
He had no tears for His own griefs,
But sweat drops of blood for mine. (Luke 22:41-44)

Verse 3
In pity angels beheld Him, (Luke 22:43)
And came from the world of light (I Tim. 6:16)
To comfort Him in the sorrows
He bore for my soul that night. (Isa. 53:4)

Verse 4
He took my sins and my sorrows, (Isa. 53:4-6)
He made them His very own; (II Cor. 5:21, I Pet. 2:24)
He bore the burden to Calvary,
And suffered and died alone. (Ps. 22:1, Matt. 27:46, Mark 15:34)

Verse 5
When with the ransomed in glory
His face I at last shall see, (Rev. 22:4, I Cor. 13:12)
’Twill be my joy through the ages
To sing of His love for me.
