Lyrics

Verse 1
Sing praise to God who reigns above,
The God of all creation, (Ps. 47:6-8)
The God of power, the God of love,
The God of our salvation. (Ps. 65:5-6, Ps. 68:19-20)
With healing balm my soul is filled (Jer. 8:22)
And every faithless murmur stilled:
To God all praise and glory.

Verse 2
What God’s almighty power hath made
His gracious mercy keepeth, (Neh. 9:6, Col. 1:16-17)
By morning glow or evening shade
His watchful eye ne’er sleepeth; (Ps. 121:3-6)
Within the kingdom of His might,
Lo! all is just and all is right: (Deut. 32:4)
To God all praise and glory.

Verse 3
The Lord is never far away, (Ps. 145:18, Matt. 28:20, Acts 17:27, Heb. 13:5)
But through all grief distressing, (Ps. 34:18)
An ever present help and stay, (Ps. 46:1)
Our peace and joy and blessing.
As with a mother’s tender hand,
God gently leads the chosen band: (Isa. 40:11, Isa. 49:15, Isa. 66:13)
To God all praise and glory.

Verse 4
Thus, all my toilsome way along,
I sing aloud Thy praises,
That earth may hear the grateful song
My voice unwearied raises. (Ps. 40:3, Ps. 96:1-3, Ps. 98:4)
Be joyful in the Lord, my heart,
Both soul and body bear your part: (Ps. 103:1)
To God all praise and glory.

Verse 5
Let all who name Christ’s holy name (II Tim. 2:19)
Give God all praise and glory;
Let all who own His power proclaim
Aloud the wondrous story! (Ps. 145:10-12)
Cast each false idol from its throne, (Ex. 20:3-5)
For Christ is Lord, and Christ alone: (Phil. 2:10-11, I Cor. 8:5-6, Acts 2:36)
To God all praise and glory.
