Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above

Verse 1
Sing praise to God who reigns ab­ove,
The God of all cre­ation, (Ps. 47:6-8)
The God of pow­er, the God of love,
The God of our sal­va­tion. (Ps. 65:5-6, Ps. 68:19-20)
With heal­ing balm my soul is filled (Jer. 8:22)
And ev­ery faith­less mur­mur stilled:
To God all praise and glo­ry.

Verse 2
What God’s al­migh­ty pow­er hath made
His gra­cious mer­cy keepe­th, (Neh. 9:6, Col. 1:16-17)
By morn­ing glow or ev­en­ing shade
His watch­ful eye ne’er sleep­eth; (Ps. 121:3-6)
Within the king­dom of His might,
Lo! all is just and all is right: (Deut. 32:4)
To God all praise and glo­ry.

Verse 3
The Lord is nev­er far away, (Ps. 145:18, Matt. 28:20, Acts 17:27, Heb. 13:5)
But through all grief dis­tress­ing, (Ps. 34:18)
An ev­er pre­sent help and stay, (Ps. 46:1)
Our peace and joy and bless­ing.
As with a mo­ther’s ten­der hand,
God gent­ly leads the chos­en band: (Isa. 40:11, Isa. 49:15, Isa. 66:13)
To God all praise and glo­ry.

Verse 4
Thus, all my toil­some way along,
I sing aloud Thy prais­es,
That earth may hear the grate­ful song
My voice un­wea­ried rais­es. (Ps. 40:3, Ps. 96:1-3, Ps. 98:4)
Be joy­ful in the Lord, my heart,
Both soul and bo­dy bear your part: (Ps. 103:1)
To God all praise and glo­ry.

Verse 5
Let all who name Christ’s ho­ly name (II Tim. 2:19)
Give God all praise and glo­ry;
Let all who own His pow­er pro­claim
Aloud the won­drous sto­ry! (Ps. 145:10-12)
Cast each false id­ol from its throne, (Ex. 20:3-5)
For Christ is Lord, and Christ alone: (Phil. 2:10-11, I Cor. 8:5-6, Acts 2:36)
To God all praise and glo­ry.
