Take Time to Be Holy

Verse 1
Take time to be ho­ly, (Lev. 11:44-45, Lev. 19:2, Lev. 20:7, Lev. 20:26, Eph. 1:4, Eph. 5:27, I Pet. 1:15-16, Heb. 12:14)
Speak oft with thy Lord; (Ps. 55:17, Luke 18:1, I Thess. 5:17)
Abide in Him al­ways, (John 15:4, John 15:7, I John 2:28, I John 3:24, I John 4:12-16)
And feed on His Word. (Deut. 8:3, Job 23:12, Jer. 15:16, Matt. 4:4, Luke 4:4, I Pet. 2:2)
Make friends of God’s child­ren,
Help those who are weak, (I Thess. 5:14)
Forgetting in no­thing
His bless­ing to seek.

Verse 2
Take time to be ho­ly,
The world rush­es on;
Spend much time in sec­ret,
With Je­sus alone. (Matt. 6:6, Mark 1:35, Luke 5:16)
By look­ing to Je­sus, (Heb. 12:1-2)
Like Him thou shalt be; (II Cor. 3:18, Ps. 17:15, I John 3:2)
Thy friends in thy con­duct
His like­ness shall see. (I Pet. 2:12, II Cor. 3:18)

Verse 3
Take time to be ho­ly,
Let Him be thy guide; (Ps. 25:4-5, Ps. 32:8, Prov. 3:5-6)
And run not be­fore Him,
Whatever be­tide. (Ps. 37:7)
In joy or in sor­row,
Still fol­low the Lord,
And, look­ing to Je­sus, (Heb. 12:1-2)
Still trust in His Word. (Ps. 119:42)

Verse 4
Take time to be ho­ly,
Be calm in thy soul, (Ps. 131:2)
Each thought and each mo­tive
Beneath His con­trol. (II Cor. 10:5, Ps. 19:14, Ps. 139:23-24)
Thus led by His Spir­it (Rom. 8:14, Gal. 5:16, Gal. 5:25)
To fount­ains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fit­ted
For serv­ice ab­ove. (Rev. 22:3)
