Lyrics

Verse 1
My soul in sad exile was out on life’s sea,
So burdened with sin and distressed,
Till I heard a sweet voice, saying, “Make Me your choice;”
And I entered the Haven of Rest! (Ps. 107:28-30)

Chorus
I’ve anchored my soul in the Haven of Rest, (Heb. 6:19)
I’ll sail the wide seas no more;
The tempest may sweep over wild, stormy, deep, (Isa. 43:2, Ps. 107:28-29, Matt. 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41, Luke 8:22-25)
In Jesus I’m safe evermore.

Verse 2
I yielded myself to His tender embrace,
In faith taking hold of the Word,
My fetters fell off, and I anchored my soul; (Heb. 6:19)
The Haven of Rest is my Lord. (Ps. 107:28-30)

Verse 3
The song of my soul, since the Lord made me whole, (Matt. 9:22, Matt. 14:36, Matt. 15:28, Matt. 15:31, Mark 5:34, Mark 6:56, Mark 10:52, Luke 8:48, Luke 8:50, Luke 17:19, John 5:4, John 5:6, John 5:9, John 5:11, John 5:14-15, John 7:23, Acts 4:9)
Has been the old story so blest,
Of Jesus, who’ll save whosoever will have (John 3:16, Rom. 10:13, Rev. 22:17)
A home in the Haven of Rest. (Ps. 107:28-30)

Verse 4
How precious the thought that we all may recline,
Like John, the belovèd so blest, (John 13:23, John 13:25, John 21:20)
On Jesus’ strong arm, where no tempest can harm, (Ps. 46:1-3, Isa. 43:2)
Secure in the Haven of Rest. (Ps. 107:28-30)

Verse 5
O come to the Savior, He patiently waits
To save by His power divine;
Come, anchor your soul in the Haven of Rest, (Heb. 6:19, Ps. 107:28-30)
And say, My Belovèd is mine. (Song of Solomon 2:16, Song of Solomon 6:3)
