Lyrics

Verse 1
The King of love my Shepherd is, (Ps. 23:1, John 10:11, John 10:14, Heb. 13:20, I Pet. 5:4)
Whose goodness faileth never,
I nothing lack if I am His (Ps. 23:1)
And He is mine forever.

Verse 2
Where streams of living water flow (John 4:13-14. Rev. 7:17)
My ransomed soul He leadeth, (Ps. 23:2)
And where the verdant pastures grow,
With food celestial feedeth. (Ps. 23:2)

Verse 3
Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, (Ps. 119:176, Isa. 53:6, I Pet. 2:25)
But yet in love He sought me,
And on His shoulder gently laid,
And home, rejoicing, brought me. (Matt. 18:12-13, Luke 15:4-7, Ezek. 34:11-12)

Verse 4
In death’s dark vale I fear no ill (Ps. 23:4)
With Thee, dear Lord, beside me;
Thy rod and staff my comfort still, (Ps. 23:4)
Thy cross before to guide me.

Verse 5
Thou spread’st a table in my sight; (Ps. 23:5)
Thy unction grace bestoweth;
And O what transport of delight
From Thy pure chalice floweth! (Ps. 23:5, Matt. 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:14-20, I Cor. 11:23-26)

Verse 6
And so through all the length of days
Thy goodness faileth never; (Ps. 23:6)
Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise (John 10:11, John 10:14)
Within Thy house forever. (Ps. 23:6, Ps. 27:4)
