There's a Song in the Air

There’s a song in the air! (Luke 2:13-14)
There’s a star in the sky! (Matt. 2:1-2, Matt. 2:9-10)
There’s a mo­ther’s deep pray­er
And a ba­by’s low cry!
And the star rains its fire
While the beau­ti­ful sing, (Luke 2:13-14)
For the man­ger of Beth­le­hem
Cradles a king! (Luke 2:7, Luke 2:11-12)

Verse 2
There’s a tu­mult of joy (Matt. 2:10-11)
O’er the won­der­ful birth,
For the vir­gin’s sweet boy (Isa. 7:14, Matt. 1:23, Luke 1:34-35)
Is the Lord of the earth. (Josh. 3:11, Ps. 24:1, Ps. 97:5, Mic. 4:13)
Ay! the star rains its fire
While the beau­ti­ful sing,
For the man­ger of Beth­le­hem
Cradles a king! (Luke 2:7)

Verse 3
In the light of that star
Lie the ag­es im­pearled;
And that song from afar
Has swept ov­er the world.
Every hearth is aflame,
And the beau­ti­ful sing
In the homes of the na­tions
That Je­sus is king! (Ps. 96:10)

Verse 4
We re­joice in the light,
And we ec­ho the song
That comes down through the night
From the heav­en­ly throng. (Luke 2:13-14)
Ay! we shout to the love­ly
Evangel they bring, (Isa. 52:7, Luke 2:10-11, Rom. 10:15)
And we greet in His cra­dle
Our Sav­ior and king! (Luke 2:7)
