We Gather Together

Verse 1
We ga­ther to­ge­ther to ask the Lord’s bless­ing;
He chast­ens and hast­ens His will to make known. (Deut. 8:5, Ps. 94:12, Heb. 12:6, Heb. 12:10-11, Rev. 3:19)
The wick­ed op­press­ing now cease from dis­tress­ing. (Isa. 14:4)
Sing prais­es to His name; He for­gets not His own. (Isa. 49:15-16)

Verse 2
Beside us to guide us, our God with us join­ing, (Ps. 48:14)
Ordaining, main­tain­ing His king­dom di­vine;
So from the be­gin­ning the fight we were win­ning;
Thou, Lord, were at our side, all glo­ry be Thine! (Ps. 124:1, Deut. 20:4, II Chron. 20:15, II Chron. 32:7-8)

Verse 3
We all do ex­tol Thee, Thou lead­er tri­umph­ant, (Ps. 145:1)
And pray that Thou still our de­fend­er will be.
Let Thy con­gre­ga­tion es­cape tri­bu­la­tion;
Thy name be ev­er praised! O Lord, make us free! (Ps. 72:19, Ps. 113:3, Ps. 145:2, John 8:32, John 8:36, Gal. 5:1)
