Lyrics

Verse 1
We plow the fields, and scatter
The good seed on the land, (Matt. 13:24, Matt. 13:27, Matt. 13:37)
But it is fed and watered
By God’s almighty hand; (Ps. 65:9-10, Isa. 55:10)
He sends the snow in winter, (Ps. 147:16, Isa. 55:10, Job 37:6)
The warmth to swell the grain,
The breezes and the sunshine, (Matt. 5:45)
And soft refreshing rain. (Isa. 55:10, Ps. 104:13-14, Ps. 147:8, Acts 14:17)

Chorus
All good gifts around us
Are sent from Heaven above, (James 1:17)
Then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord
For all His love.

Verse 2
He only is the Maker
Of all things near and far; (Gen. 1:1, Neh. 9:6, Ps. 146:6, Isa. 44:24, John 1:3, Acts 17:24-25, Col. 1:16, Rev. 4:11)
He paints the wayside flower, (Matt. 6:28-30, Luke 12:27-28)
He lights the evening star; (Gen. 1:16)
The winds and waves obey Him, (Ps. 107:28-29, Matt. 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41, Luke 8:22-25)
By Him the birds are fed; (Ps. 147:9, Matt. 6:26, Luke 12:24)
Much more to us, His children, (Matt. 6:26, Matt. 7:11)
He gives our daily bread. (Matt. 6:11, Luke 11:3)

Verse 3
We thank Thee, then, O Father,
For all things bright and good, (Eph. 5:20, I Thess. 5:18)
The seed time and the harvest, (Gen. 8:22)
Our life, our health, and food; (Ps. 103:2-5)
No gifts have we to offer,
For all Thy love imparts, (I Chron. 29:14)
But that which Thou desirest,
Our humble, thankful hearts. (Ps. 50:14)
