Lyrics

Verse 1
We’ve a story to tell to the nations, (Ps. 96:2-3, Matt. 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8)
That shall turn their hearts to the right,
A story of truth and mercy,
A story of peace and light, (Luke 1:79)
A story of peace and light.

Chorus
For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright; (Isa. 9:2, Isa. 58:8, Isa. 60:1-2, II Pet. 1:19)
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come on earth, (Matt. 6:10, Luke 11:2, Rev. 11:15)
The kingdom of love and light.

Verse 2
We’ve a song to be sung to the nations, (Ps. 96:1-3, Ps. 57:9, Ps. 108:3)
That shall lift their hearts to the Lord,
A song that shall conquer evil
And shatter the spear and sword, (Ps. 76:3, Isa. 2:4, Mic. 4:3)
And shatter the spear and sword.

Verse 3
We’ve a message to give to the nations,
That the Lord who reigns up above (I Chron. 16:31, Ps. 2:1-6, Ps. 47:8, Ps. 103:19)
Has sent us His Son to save us, (John 3:16-17, I John 4:9-10, I John 4:14)
And show us that God is love, (I John 4:8, I John 4:16)
And show us that God is love.

Verse 4
We’ve a Savior to show to the nations,
Who the path of sorrow has trod, (Isa. 53:3-4, I Pet. 2:21)
That all of the world’s great peoples
Might come to the truth of God, (Isa. 2:2-3, Rev. 5:9, Ps. 22:27-28)
Might come to the truth of God.
