Sure token of redemption near

Verse 1
Sure token of redemption near,
Our servitude is more severe,
And heavier is our chain,
Thou hast not rescu’d us at all;
Of harder tasks, and sorer thrall,
More deeply we complain.

Verse 2
By this assuredly we know
The tyrant soon shall let us go,
Compell’d by power divine;
We then to liberty restor’d
Shall worship our redeeming Lord,
And live forever thine.
