Verse 1
While yet the ground I cumber,
Spared by thy patient grace,
Teach me aright to number
My few, remaining days,
That wise unto salvation
I here may mortify
My every sense and passion,
And die, before I die.
Verse 2
Thy servant, Lord, inspire
With faith that works by love,
And set my soul on fire
With hope of joys above:
Anointed by thy Spirit
O let my spirit rise,
And seek, and strive t’ inherit
That kingdom in the skies.
Verse 3
To this my heart applying,
With all my gracious power,
I woud by daily dying
Anticipate the hour;
The hour of my dismission
With patient love attend,
Till in that Blisful Vision
Both faith and sufferings end.
