God never can his own reprove

“God never can his own reprove,
“Or bruise the objects of his love:[”]
Tis thus the foolish world blaspheme,
And mock our confidence in Him:
But chasten’d by Paternal grace
Our God more closely we embrace,
Assur’d we in his love abide;
For all his sons are crucified.
