Bound in chains of hidden night

Bound in chains of hidden night,
Straglers from th’ infernal pit,
Devils cannot wreck their spite,
Till our sovereign Lord permit:
Jesus covers us and ours,
Who on his great name depend,
Limits hell’s malicious powers,
Saves his people to the end.
