Thou art the Christ of God

Verse 1
Thou art the Christ of God
On all mankind bestow’d:
Thee the co-eternal Son
By th’ anointing Spirit seal’d,
Prophet, Priest, and King we own,
Man with all the Godhead fill’d.

Verse 2
The Spirit of our Head
Is on the members shed:
Ever streaming from above
He to us thy name imparts,
Brings the unction of thy love,
Forms, and dwells in Christian hearts.

Verse 3
Thy mystic body we
Our all receive from Thee,
Life, and truth, and grace for grace;
Thine anointed ones we rise,
Temples of thy holiness,
Fill’d with Him who fills the skies.
