God made man on earth appeared

Verse 1
God made man on earth appear’d,
And mighty wonders wrought;
Sinners saw their Lord and heard,
And yet believed him not:
Still thy Spirit, Lord, is near,
Yet still unknown to me Thou art,
Till Thou giv’st the hearing ear
And preachest to my heart.

Verse 2
Now thy miracles of grace
Repeat, O God in me,
Now reveal thy lovely face
And give me eyes to see;
Present with thy servant dwell,
Into mine inmost spirit given,
Give me in Thyself to feel
The hidden life of heaven.
