With sorrow Lord and fear

With sorrow, Lord, and fear
We thine Apostle see
Renounce his sacred character,
And hell prefer to Thee;
For we who fiercely blame
The wretch with Satan fraught,
Left to ourselves, should do the same,
Should sell our God for nought.
