The sentiments of those that know

Verse 1
The sentiments of those that know
The Christian sect, are still the same:
The faith of God reveal’d below,
The men who truly bear his name,
Expos’d to general enmity
We were, and we shall always be.

Verse 2
Yet not a selfish party’s cause,
But Jesus’ glory we maintain,
Proclaim his purchase on the cross,
His peace for every child of man,
And still oppos’d by earth and hell,
In Jesus’ strength o’re all prevail.
