A minister of Jesus

Verse 1
A minister of Jesus
Doth pitying zeal express,
When doubly dead he sees us
In sins and trespasses;
Himself to the salvation,
Of pretious souls applies,
With earnest supplication
For our recovery cries.

Verse 2
With diligence attending,
As born for this alone,
And kindly condescending
He makes our case his own,
With tenderest love embraces,
And offers us his aid:
But only Jesus raises
A sinner from the dead.
