An image of the Gentiles see,
Long in a state of nature free,
Free from the law and gospel-yoke,
Untaught, undisciplin’d, unbroke,
Till Jesus full of truth and grace
His servants sends to the high-ways,
Redeems by his all-powerful word,
And brings them to their pardning Lord.
