Bridegroom of His church, and Head

Verse 1
Bridegroom of his church, and head,
And husband is the Lord,
By the universe he made
Acknowledg’d and ador’d,
The One God for ever blest,
Supreme, omnipotent I AM,
God made flesh, and manifest
On earth in Jesus’ name.

Verse 2
Different from the Father then
Is Christ another God?
No: Jehovah dwelt with men,
And bought us by his blood:
Christ the true Jehovah was,
And is, and shall be evermore:
God expiring on a cross
Let earth and heaven adore.
