Fattier, Thou hast rais’d him up

Father, thou hast rais’d him up,
That prophet of the Lord,
Every heart’s desire and hope,
Thine own eternal Word:
In our feeble flesh array’d
We own the filial deity,
Jesus like his brethren made,
To make us all like thee.

Hymnal/Album: Originally titled “I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee.”—[Deut.] xviii. 18.
