Great Author of all my desires, Thy beauty

Great author of all my desires,
Thy beauty I languish to see,
My vehement spirit aspires,
And gasps to be happy in thee!
Thee early and late I pursue,
’Till caught to the mansions of light
My Jesus unclouded I view,
And heaven enjoy in the sight.

Hymnal/Album: Originally titled “With my spirit within me will I seek thee early.”—[Isa.] xxvi. 9.
