I have need of a physician

I have need of a physician;
Jesus, my physician be:
Help me in my lost condition,
Sin’s severe extremity:
Sick to death of pride and passion,
Desperate, Lord, to thee I cry:
With thine uttermost salvation
Save, or I forever die.

Hymnal/Album: Originally titled “They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.”—[Matt.] ix. 12.
