The’ ambassador of Jesus see

Th’ ambassador of Jesus see,
Who publish’d first the gospel-word!
His equipage is poverty,
His fund the promise of his Lord:
The gifts which freely he receives,
Freely he gives for Jesus sake,
And to succeeding labourers leaves
A pattern few have hearts to take.
