The Holy Ghost in part we know

Verse 1
The Holy Ghost in part we know,
For with us he resides,
Our whole of good to him we owe
Whom by his grace he guides:
He doth our virtuous thoughts inspire,
The evil he averts,
And every seed of good desire
He planted in our hearts.

Verse 2
He, whom the world cannot receive,
But fight against his power,
Will come, we stedfastly believe,
In his appointed hour:
He now the future grace reveals,
Bespeaks his mean abode;
And in us when the Spirit dwells,
We all are fill’d with God.
