The Lord our God is only One

Verse 1
The Lord our God is only One, (Deut. 6:4, Zech. 14:9)
One is Jehovah the most high: (Ps. 83:18)
Jehovah is his name alone, (Jer. 23:6, Is. 42:8)
Who made and fills both earth and sky: (Gen. 1:1)
Jehovah is the Saviour’s name;
Jehovah is the Spirit’s too: (Ezek. 8:1-3)
And Three essentially the same (I John 5:7)
Is the eternal God and true.

Verse 2
The name peculiarly divine (Ex. 3:14)
Which doth his nature best express, (Ex. 6:3)
To the Three Persons we assign,
And each substantial God confess: (I John 5:7)
Rivals of his celestial host
We triumph here like those above,
And Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
The One supreme Jehovah love.
