Thee will I praise with all my heart

Verse 1
Thee will I praise with all my Heart, (Ps. 9:1, Ps. 86:12, Ps. 111:1 Ps. 138:1)
And tell Mankind how Good Thou art, (Ps. 145:4)
How marvellous thy Works of Grace: (Ps. 9:1)
Thy Name I will in Songs record, (Ps. 9:2, Ps. 68:4, Ps. 69:30)
And joy and glory in my Lord
Extol’d above all Thanks and Praise.
When Thou hast put my Foes to flight, (Ps. 9:3)
They all shall feel thine utmost Might,
And lose their Being with their Power,
My Foes shall at thy Presence fall, (Ps. 9:3)
My Sins shall fade and perish all,
My Sins shall die to live no more.

Verse 2
For Thou, O Lord, my Cause hast gain’d, (Ps. 9:4)
My Right to pardning Love maintain’d,
And clear’d me at thy Gracious Throne; (Heb. 4:16)
Thy speaking Blood pronounc’d me free; (Ps. 9:4, Heb. 12:24)
My Sins Thou hast condemn’d, not me, (Rom. 8:1)
Condemn’d to Death my Sins alone.
Thou hast in Holy Souls destroy’d
The World of Evil, and it’s God, (Ps. 9:5, I Jn. 3:8)
Forever and forever slain;
The foul Orig’nal Stain effac’d,
It’s Being, and its Name eras’d, (Ps. 9:5, Rom. 6:6)
Nor let one Seed of Sin remain.

Verse 3
Satan, thy reigning Hour is past, (Luke 22:53, Rev. 12:10)
Thy Rage which laid whole Cities waste; (Ps. 9:6)
Their Souls Thou shalt no longer slay;
Destroy’d is thy Destroying Power, (Ps. 9:6)
For Sin subsists in Saints no more, (Rom. 6:14)
It’s Relicks all are swept away.
But Jesus shall for ever reign, (Ps. 9:7, Ex. 15:18, Ps. 146:10, Isa. 9:7, Mic. 4:7, Luke 1:33, Rev. 11:15)
His Throne in Righteousness maintain; (Ps. 9:8, Ps. 89:14, Ps. 97:2)
His Throne for Judgment is prepar’d, (Ps. 9:7)
And all Mankind at that great Bar
Shall stand, and meet their Sentence there, (Matt. 25:31-32, Rom. 14:10, Rev. 20:12)
Their fearful Doom, or vast Reward.

Verse 4
The Lord will save his People here;
In Times of Need their Help is near, (Ps. 9:9, Ps. 37:39-40, Ps. 46:1, Heb. 4:16)
To All by Sin and Hell opprest; (Acts 10:38)
And they that know thy Name will trust (Ps. 9:10)
In Thee, who to thy Promise just,
Hast never left a Soul distrest.
An helpless Soul, that looks to Thee, (Ps. 9:10)
Is sure at last thy Face to see,
And all thy Goodness to partake; (Ps. 34:8)
The Sinner, who for Thee doth grieve,
And longs, and labours to Believe,
Thou never never wilt forsake. (Ps. 9:10, John 6:37, Heb. 13:5)

Verse 5
Sing to the Lord unceasing Praise, (Ps. 9:11)
Who dwells among the Faithfull Race,
His glorious Works to All declare: (Ps. 9:11, Ps. 145:11-12)
He at his People’s Cry shall come, (Ps. 9:12, Ps. 18:6)
Their Foes to swift Destruction doom,
And answer all their humble Prayer. (Ps. 102:17)
Hear thou, O Lord, and succour me,
Regard my helpless Misery:
Thou from the Gates of Death shalt raise, (Ps. 9:13)
That I within thy Courts may sing (Ps. 9:14, Ps. 100:4)
My GOD, my Conqueror, and my King,
And shew forth all thy Mercy’s Praise. (Ps. 9:14)

Verse 6
I glory in thy Power to save, (Rom. 1:16)
My Foes are sunk into the Grave
Their Malice had for me prepar’d,
Their Foot is snar’d in their own Net; (Ps. 9:15, Ps. 35:8)
The Nations, who their God forget, (Ps. 9:17)
Shall find in Hell their just Reward. (Ps. 9:17)
The Lord is by his Judgments known; (Ps. 9:16)
He helps his poor afflicted One, (Ps. 9:18)
His Sorrows all He bears in mind; (Ps. 9:18)
The Mourner shall not always weep,
Who sows in Tears at last shall reap, (Ps. 126:5)
With Grief who seeks with Joy shall find.

Verse 7
Now, Lord, in our Behalf arise, (Ps. 9:19, Ps. 68:1)
Humble thy Church’s Enemies, (Ps. 94:2-3)
Their vain Designs at once o’rethrow,
The Heathen at thy Bar arraign, (Ps. 9:19, Ps. 110:6)
Adjudge them here to wholsom Pain,
That They Themselves and Thee may know. (Ezek. 38:22-23)
Bring forth the Weapons of thy War,
And let thy redwing’d Lightnings glare,
And send thy Thunderbolts abroad, (Ps. 18:13-14)
Fill all their Souls with sore Affright, (Ps. 9:20)
And shew them in thy Judgment’s Light
They are but Men, and Thou art GOD. (Ps. 9:20, Isa. 31:3, Ezek. 28:2, Ezek. 28:9)
