To him, the Doorkeeper above

Verse 1
To him the Doorkeeper above
The Father manifests his Son,
Opens the treasures of his love,
Makes his mysterious wisdom known,
The pastor into Christ receives,
And the true Door of utterance gives.

Verse 2
God only can his Son reveal,
And Jesus’ ministers ordain,
Jehovah must their mission seal;
Or man lays on his hands in vain:
Thou, Father, Thou that Porter art;
Display my Saviour in my heart.
