Who Himself to babes reveals

Verse 1
Who himself to babes reveals,
Justly from the proud departs,
Leaves the stubborn infidels
To the blindness of their hearts,
Quite withdraws his light and power,
Since they neither would receive:
Then their gracious day is o’re,
Then they never can believe.

Verse 2
Jesus, Light of life divine,
Do not hide thyself from me,
Me who would be wholly thine,
Would be always led by Thee,
Me who trust thy only love,
Who thy Spirit’s law obey,
In thy face unveil’d above,
Shew me that eternal Day!
